With most of the focus coming into the final day of the 2008 British Open on Greg Norman and last year's winner, Padraig Harrington, it's easy to forget that there were other strong contenders coming down the stretch.
At noon Eastern Standard Time, Ian Poulter was just one back behind the two leaders - Norman and Harrington. A few minutes past noon, he had tied for first.
Poulter opened as a big 66/1 long shot at SBG Global
Poulter received the coveted Sir Henry Cotton Rookie of the Year in 2000. His best finish was #9 in the 2006 PGA Championship.
Anthony Kim opened with 33/1 odds and was very much in the hunt at noon Eastern Time. A Korean American, Kim was born in Los Angeles and resides in Dallas, Texas. He has won two PGA Tour events but no majors and has failed to place better than #20.
The British Open is the single most bet on event in the United Kingdom. Oddsmakers were scrambling the past four days to update odds as there have been several lead changes and even as of noon, none of the contenders were running away with it.
