Listening to the national sports talk shows, one would presume that the Los Angeles Lakers might win the NBA championship in 2012.

One would be DEAD wrong!

Los Angeles is up two games to none on the Denver Nuggets in the first playoff round (of four rounds), but the so-called analysts seem to missing a pretty huge point.

The Nuggets are the perfect foil for Kobe Bryant's brigade because the Lakers can push around Denver's front line.

In fact, the Nuggets are the best possible opponent for LA in this round.

However, all this ends quietly in Round 2, when the Lakers meet the Oklahoma City Thunder.

The Ok City boys are almost as big up front, and are quicker and much deeper.

I would not be surprised in Oklahoma City swept the Lakers in four straight should they meet in the next round.

The biggest advantage the Thunder will have is that bench situation.

The Thunder have a very motivated James Harden, while the Lakers have Matt Barnes and Steve Blake, which is a major mismatch.

All and all, for any of you who have those future book tickets on LA, you might as well tear them up right now, because they will be worthless in a couple of weeks.
