SBG Global Opening Line for the Phoenix Coyotes vs. Carolina Hurricanes game: Hurricanes  - 155 , Total 5.5 Flat

The Phoenix Coyotes begin a four-game trip Friday night against the Carolina Hurricanes. Goaltender Ilya Bryzgalov is expected to make his 11th straight start for the Coyotes.  He will be opposed in net by Cam Ward. "They've got a team that knows how to win," Phoenix defenseman Derek Morris said. "A lot of those guys have been together for a long time, so they know what they have to do. They have a real good system and a really solid goaltender. Ward is probably one of the most underrated goalies in the league. If he sees the puck, he's going to stop it."

SBG Global reports that early hockey betting has the public taking   Coyotes on the Road.

Shane Doan leads the Coyotes with 10 goals, and center Olli Jokinen is leading the team with 10 assists. The Coyotes enter the game with a 3-5-0 record away from home.  "It's going to be an important road trip," Phoenix center Steven Reinprecht said. "We've been battling here (at home) a little bit lately and I think getting on the road might be exactly what we need. That first game, you want to go out there and set the tone for the road trip, so it will be big."

Carolina is 10-7-2 this season and half of those wins have come at home. Left wing Ray Whitney leads the Hurricanes with 15 points and 10 assists. Center Rod Brind'Amour is the top goal scorer with seven. "They're one of the teams that have tremendous speed and puck movement," Coyotes Head Coach Wayne Gretzky said. "They're defense jumps into the play and gets heavily involved and they're going to really come at us. We better be strong defensively... they don't hold back."

Here are the hockey betting stats for Friday's game. The Coyotes are 6-2 in their last 8 vs. the Southeast. The Coyotes are 4-10 in their last 14 road games. The Coyotes are 4-0 in the last 4 meetings between the two teams.
