There’s a buzz on the PGA Tour again, as Tiger Woods scored his first Tour victory post-scandal at last week’s Arnold Palmer Invitational. Of course, this week in Texas everyone gets to take a breath as Tiger takes the week off. The Shell Houston Open field is still plenty tough and the Redstone Course has enough scoring opportunities to reward aggressive play. Here’s a look at this week’s best bets …

Steve Stricker (15/1): Stricker took two weeks off after scoring a T8 at the Cadillac Championships. Along with his season-opening win at the Hyundai Tournament of Champions, he’s gone top-10 in two of his three stroke-play starts. He’s always had success at Redstone, finishing T4 last year and in the top-11 in four of his five starts here. Stricker currently leads the Tour in birdie average (4.67).

Lee Westwood (10/1): Westwood has been solid all year, going top-20 in six of his past seven starts. He’s stuck around in Redstone a few times too, including a T11 in 2009 and a T8 in 2010.

Phil Mickelson (12/1): Lefty tore Redstone apart a year ago, ripping off 18 birdies over the final two rounds en route to a three-stroke victory. There’s no reason he can’t do it again this time around.

Padraig Harrington (50/1): He’s never missed a cut in the six years Redstone has hosted, including a T8 last year. He hasn’t quite put it together in a tournament this year but has shown flashes, like the opening-round 61 he shot at the Transitions two weeks ago.

Ernie Els (25/1): He seems to have turned a corner in his comeback, as Els has finished top-5 for two straight weeks. Tiger Woods broke through last week, and this week it could be Els’ turn to get back on top.
