The Michigan State Spartans vs. Penn State Nittany Lions game is pivotal for Penn State.

"The Penn State Nittany Lions hold their fate in their hands this weekend," points out BetUS.com analysts  "All Joe Paterno's team has to do is beat Michigan State and they'll win at least a share of the Big Ten Championship and earn a trip to the Rose Bowl. If Penn State loses, the NCAAF sports betting picture gets a little cloudier.

"The Spartans' outlook is simple - they have to beat Penn State this weekend and Ohio State must lose to Michigan, because the Spartans' only conference loss this season came against the Buckeyes. And what about the Buckeyes? They can land on top if they can beat Michigan and if the Spartans defeat Penn State, because like we said earlier they already topped Michigan State this season. If that's all clear let's move on to what really matters - the games."

The outlook for the Nittany Lions is good based on past historical stats in this series.

Penn State has won 7 of their last 10 games against Michigan State but more importantly perhaps, the home team is 8-2.

The line at BetUS.com was Penn State -14 ½ heading into Thursday.  Michigan State has failed to cover that line only 4 out of the last 10 games in this series, and have covered that number 4 of the last 5 games in the series.

Michigan State has a solid 9-2 record and only once have they lost by more than the current spread this season - that to Ohio State in a pounding.

Gambling911.com believes that Michigan State to cover the +14 ½ spread is certainly a good pick this week.
