UNC NCAA Championship odds Diminish with Kendall Marshall Injury

At 6-1 odds, the UNC Tar Heels odds of winning the 2012 NCAA Basketball Tournament Championship are the third shortest after Kentucky (2/1), Ohio State (5/1) and tied with Michigan State.  (find all the latest NCAA Basketball Tournament betting odds here at Sportsbook.com).

Bettors beware!

It seems point guard Kendall Marshall may have fractured his wrist after his team beat Creighton Sunday to advance.

“What hurts the most is that I want to be here for my team and help them out,’’ said Marshall, who is considered North Carolina’s top playmaker and one of the nation’s leaders when it comes to assists. “It’s yet to be determined whether I’ll be able to or not, but we’ll find a way to get through it.”

On Monday morning, Marshall had surgery to stabilize the fractured scaphoid bone in his right wrist.

He remains questionable for this coming week’s Sweet 16 game against Ohio where North Carolina is currently a -10.5 favorite at Sportsbook.com

It should be noted that the oddsmakers have not exactly reacted to the Marshall injury.
