This NHL betting preview of the Minnesota Wild vs. Pittsburgh Penguins game is brought to you by SBG Global -

SBG Global Opening Line: Penguins   - 145 , Total  5.5 Under -130

A great interconference NHL betting matchup is set for Tuesday night as the Pittsburgh Penguins play host to the Minnesota Wild.  The Wild have had a lot of success recently against Pittsburgh including three straight wins at Mellon Arena. The Penguins could have a chance to break that streak on Tuesday if they continue their offensive success.  They have scored 32 goals in their last six games.  Evgeni Malkin has six goals and 21 assists during that time including four assists in Saturday's 5-2 win over Buffalo.  He leads the NHL with 23 assists and 30 points. "I think he knows how good he is," Penguins coach Michel Therrien said. "He has a lot of confidence."  It sure helps Malkin that he plays with superstar Sidney Crosby who has three goals and three assists in the past three games.  One problem for Pittsburgh on Tuesday will be the absence of top goalie Marc-Andre Fleury who is injured. "It's not a major injury," Therrien said Monday. "We just don't want to take a risk." SBG Global reports that early hockey betting has the public taking  Penguins  at Home.

Backup goalie Danny Sabourin will get the start for Pittsburgh and he is 3-1 with a 1.68 GAA this season.  He will be matched up against Minnesota's Niklas Backstrom, who's allowed only five goals over the last four games.

"He's really focused," right wing Antti Miettinen said. "He's calm in there and seems to be in the right spot."

Here are the hockey betting stats for Tuesday's game. The Wild are 1-4 in their last 5 vs. a team with a winning record. The Wild are 2-12 in their last 14 Tuesday games. The Wild are 4-1-1 in the last 6 meetings between the two teams. The road team is 4-1-1 in the last 6 meetings.

The Penguins are 4-0 in their last 4 vs. the Northwest. The Penguins are 38-14 in their last 52 home games. The Penguins are 19-7 in their last 26 Tuesday games. The Penguins are 17-8 in their last 25 vs. the Western Conference. The Penguins are 36-17 in their last 53 overall.

SBG Global Current Line: Penguins   - 145 , Total  5.5 Under -130

The Under is 6-0-1 in Minnesota's last 7 overall. The Over is 5-1 in Minnesota's last 6 vs. the Atlantic. The Under is 4-1-1 in Minnesota's last 6 road games.
