Tennessee Titans vs. Jacksonville Jaguars Betting Odds

Perhaps among the most widely anticipated games of the week, the undefeated Tennessee Titans take on their underperforming but still dangerous division rival, the Jacksonville Jaguars.  Early betting odds on this game were actually set at a PK (or even) and have since moved up to Titans -3 though a few books still have the line at -2 ½.

Kerry Collins threw for a season-high 289 yards and two touchdowns in a 21-14 win Sunday over the Chicago Bears last week to go 9-0 on the season and have a franchise best 12 regular season win streak that began last year.

"It's nice to win a ballgame and not play well," coach Jeff Fisher said after last week's game. Particularly as they struggled when they weren't throwing the ball.

The 20 yards rushing were just one above their franchise low and they had minus-5 in the first half. It was a stunning performance for a team that was third in the league entering the game.

Even so, the Titans set a club record with their 12th straight regular-season win thanks to Collins and a defense that shut down Rex Grossman and the Bears.

Collins completed 12 straight passes at one point and was 30-of-41 without an interception.  Brandon Jones caught eight passes for 82 yards, and Bo Scaife had 10 for 78 with a touchdown.

Jacksonville, meanwhile, beat the winless Detroit Lions handily but sit one game below the .500 mark.

David Garrard was 18-for-27 for 238 yards and two TDs, his second multi-TD game this season.

Coming into this week, NFL News suggests keeping an eye out for Titans running back Chris Johnson.

"He had by far his worst outing of what has been an impressive rookie season last week, netting 23 total yards on 16 touches against the Bears' fourth-ranked run defense. Expect Johnson to bounce back against a Jacksonville defense that has allowed an average of 121 rushing yards over the last four weeks. Johnson totaled 127 yards from scrimmage in his first meeting with Jacksonville in Week 1.

On the Jacksonville side, Matt Jones has established himself as David Garrard's go-to receiver through nine games, although he was forced out of last week's game with a thigh bruise. If Jones can't go, Garrard could be in for a long day against Tennessee's playmaking secondary.

The Titans have won 3 of the last 4 in this series.  Over the last 10 games, the series is split as is the home/away series.  4 of the last 10 games have been won by a total of 3 points.

Tennessee is 13-3 ATS in their last 16 games against the AFC South.  Jacksonville is 8-2 ATS in their last 10 home games against a team with a winning record.

88 percent of the betting public was on the Titans heading into Saturday evening at Sportsbook.com even though the line had not moved off of -3 since opening there.

Jacksonville has a good shot of covering here but no way do any of here at Gambling911.com go against this red hot Titans team.
