Most of the national polls have GOP candidate Ron Paul tied with Mitt Romney in the Iowa Caucus but at least one poll now has Paul closing in on Newt Gingrich.

The long time Texas Congressman is coming in one point behind Gingrich the Public Policy Polling.

Paul took 21 percent in the survey compared to 22 percent for Gingrich with Romney third at 16 percent.  The Texas Congressman was also climbing in New Hampshire, which follows Iowa’s Caucus.  There he was at 18 percent,  Romney was at 33 percent, Gingrich was second with 22 percent.  A win in Iowa could help pull Paul’s numbers upwards.

Paul, a staunch advocate of one’s right to gamble online, has long had the support of gamblers in both the sports betting and poker communities.

Prediction markets have Ron Paul neck and neck with Newt as the favorite to win Iowa.
