A magazine has dubbed her the “child poker prodigy”. 8-year-old Alex Fisher may very well be just that.
‘I know how to shuffle and deal the cards, raise, check, fold, and bluff. I also know how to play deuce-to-seven Lowball, H.O.R.S.E., and Badugi.
‘I can now play any poker game with the best poker players in the world.
‘With me being a girl, when I am a professional poker player I hope I can inspire other girls and women to play poker too.’
Her first win came in Las Vegas playing a major cash game, according to the Daily Mail. There she won $45 while her biggest loss was $25.
Fisher started playing poker at the age of three. She can play over 50 varieties of the game, including No-Limit Texas Hold'em.
‘The neat thing about poker is there are a lot of games to choose from and they are easy to learn and play.”
The Daily Mail noted that the young poker prodigy prefers Las Vegas to Disneyland. She snubbed a family trip to Disneyland, opting instead to head to Vegas last year.
