The Chiefs-Raiders spread was coming in at -3.5 in favor of Oakland in this 2011 Week 7 game.  The line has been all over in this game.  You can bet all the NFL games at BetDSI.com here.

One of the stats that really stands out in this series is that the away team has won 8 of the last 9 games.  Oakland, however, has won the last two in this series and three of the last four.  They have covered three of the last four as well.  Aside from a meaningless game last January, the Chiefs-Raiders games have tended to be played close.

The Raiders come into this game with an impressive 4-2 record while the Chiefs have won their last two games after a slow start and look to go .500.  Their last wins were against two teams with a combined win total of one this season though, Minnesota and Indianapolis.

Oakland (4-2) is off to its best start since 2002.  It was this year that they landed in the Super Bowl.  Unfortunately, starting quarterback Jason Campbell suffered a broken collarbone last Sunday.  His replacement is an accomplished but inconsistent Carson Palmer.  The team has not officially announced with Palmer will start on Sunday against the Chiefs.

The Raiders have plenty of faith in Palmer.

"This guy can play and he knows how to play the game and he knows how to elevate the players around him," coach Hue Jackson said.

"There's no question you go on offense as good as your quarterback is. I think he's one of the best and that's why he's on this football team now. I didn't bring him here because he was just a guy sitting out there. I brought him here because I think he can help this team win a championship."

The pressure will be on Palmer and he is fully aware of this.

"It's been a whirlwind," Palmer said. "I understand what's expected of me. I know what playing quarterback is about, and it's about winning. I want to come in and contribute and do whatever I can to help this team."

Kenny White of Don Best believes Palmer won't be ready for another month.  Pat Williams of Don Best points out that Palmer has not been very good for the past four seasons.
