The Falcons-Lions spread was coming in at -3 in favor of the Detroit Lions with betting action pretty well balanced.  The line had opened at -3.5 earlier in the week for this game.

The Lions suffered their first loss of the 2011 season last week against San Francisco but an even bigger loss for the Lions is Jahvid Best, who suffered a concussion during that game and has been ruled out for this weekend.

This is significant in that Best has a team-high 390 rushing yards with two touchdowns and he has 27 receptions for 287 yards and a score.

The Falcons are 6-1 Against The Spread in their last 7 road games vs. a team with a winning home record.

The Falcons are 13-6 ATS in their last 19 games as a road underdog of 3.5-10.0.

Atlanta is 0-4 ATS in their last 4 games following a S.U. win.

Detroit is 5-1-1 ATS in their last 7 games as a favorite.

Detroit is 5-1 ATS in their last 6 home games.

The Lions are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 games as a home favorite.

Detroit is 13-3-1 ATS in their last 17 vs. NFC.
