After dropping as low as -4.5, the Bears-Lions line was back up to -6 in favor of the undefeated Lions.  70 percent of the spread betting was on Detroit at -6.

Detroit has not had a 4-0 start in a number of decades (1956 to be exact), making this Monday Night Football game among the most widely anticipated to determine if this new and improved Lions squad can move to 5 wins.

TheStreet.com had a great piece Monday on the Lions and Detroit Tigers resurgence and how these two sports teams have embodied GM, Ford and Chrysler.

On occasion in our country, the spirit of a city becomes intertwined with the sports, music and Businesse that all co-exist there.  This happened in 1968 in Detroit, when the Tigers and the city recovered together from racial turmoil, and it happened the following year in New York, when the Mets and the city rose above their problems. It happened in 1947, when rookie Jackie Robinson led the Brooklyn Dodgers to the World Series, symbolizing the start of the twentieth century's most important societal change.
