5000 Signatures to Legalize Internet Poker Reachable in a Week

The Obama Administration has created an online petition initiative.  Get 5000 signatures in 30 days and that petition is guaranteed to be reviewed and considered as part of a job and revenue creation plan to help boost the US economy.

Internet poker is part of a multi-billion dollar industry so it should be no surprise that the industry is planning its own petition drive.

How easy might it be to deliver the minimum 5000 signatures required?

Consider this:  Last week when the PokerStars website crashed for close to an hour, a thread inquiring what had occurred on the popular TwoPlusTwo.com poker forum delivered over 5000 views in less than an hour.  While most of those views came from forum members outside the United States, it just goes to show how vast the poker playing community really is.  Additionally, there are many players living outside the US who would love to see Americans playing again.  They are not exempt from participating in any type of petition drive.

The Poker Players Alliance is currently preparing to draft the petition.  The problem they have is that not everyone who participates on the TwoPlusTwo.com posting forum will sign the petition.  The PPA will likely need the help of the entire poker community, including mediums outside 2+2.  Unfortunately, the PPA has tended to live in a vacuum over the last few years.

Fellow poker players are encouraged to alert others in the rooms in which they play.

We The People should launch shortly so bookmark and watch for it here
