Ron Paul, a long time supporter of one’s right to gamble online, has managed to raise $1.6 million during his Birthday money bomb for his US Presidential campaign.

Paul nearly beat Michele Bachmann at the Iowa Straw Poll last week but has widely been ignored by mainstream media nevertheless.

The 24-hour push was held during the Texas Republican Congressman’s 76th birthday.

The campaign issued this press release:  "Our campaign is surging, and today's money bomb results show the strength of our grassroots support. We've just come off an impressive finish in the Iowa straw poll, and our growing poll numbers and strong fundraising proves that our message is resonating with people."
