Liverpool Summer Transfers

The Liverpool summer transfer odds had Stewart Downing almost a “lock” to sign with the club at 1/5 odds while Diego and Moussa Sissoko were each listed with 5/4 odds.  Liverpool was currently listed with 11/1 odds of winning the Premier League outright in 2011 – 2012 at 888Sport.com.

Downing’s odds have been slashed on news that the Reds were preparing an £18.5 m bid for the Aston Villa striker.   Two previous bids were rejected but Liverpool seems relentless in their pursuit for Downing.

Reds manager Kenny Dalglish said of the transfer window activity: ‘We’re happy with the business we’ve done so far. Hopefully, we will do some more business before the transfer window closes. We are looking to bring other players in’.

Liverpool wants – and needs – a winger but it is doubtful that the Reds would be prepared to pay £25 m, a number that was recently mentioned.  £18.5 m is seen by many as more reasonable.

Expect Liverpool’s odds to be slashed by at least a point with this signing, so Gambling911.com recommended locking in the 11/1 price if you happen to be backing Liverpool.

Diego, meanwhile, is being linked with a move to Fiorentina, so his odds of heading to Liverpool could get longer.

Sissoko has said he was “flattered by Liverpool’s interest”.  He also hinted at playing in the Premiere League.  Man City is also trying to land Sissoko.
