Rich Muny of the Poker Players Alliance speaking on Quadjacks.com Tuesday evening said that he is hoping a bill to legalize online poker will become law by the end of 2011.

“We can live with this going a little into 2012 but we don’t want it in an Election year,” Muny stated.

Muny was responding to the bill’s sponsor, Texas Congressman Joe Barton, assertion that the best case scenario would be the bill voted on in the summer of 2012.

Poker pundits have raised concerns that little will get done on this front while politicians prepare for the upcoming 2012 US Presidential election.

Muny indicated that Barton’s bill could be tacked onto other legislation.

Muny also suggested that an already established horse racing website in the US such as YouBet.com could add an online poker platform once a law is passed.
