With a deal for Barcelona to sign Alexis Sanchez on the verge of collapsing, Man City had hoped to sign the Chilean attacker, helping Man City’s odds of winning the Premiership potentially improve beyond the current 7/2 found at Will Hill.
Only Manchester United and Chelsea had better odds of winning the 2011/2012 Premiership.
Heading into Wednesday morning, the London papers were all reporting a last minute deal for Sanchez by Man City with a price tag of £30 million. There is also word that Barcelona may be having trouble raising more cash to keep Sanchez.
Meanwhile, Manchester United has declined to raise its offer beyond £27 million.
Sanchez is expected to meet with Man City some time Wednesday.
