NFL player Ray Lewis claimed on his Twitter page that an NFL lockout will result in more crime. Lewis plays in one of the most crime-ridden cities in the nation, Baltimore.
Lewis claimed that countless numbers of people will lose their jobs (the players, stadium workers, towel boys, etc..) while others will be flat out bored on Sundays.
“Do this research. If we don’t have a season, watch how much evil, which we call it crime, watch how much crime picks up when you take away our game,” he said.
“I would hope that it would not increase crime without football. Baltimore is a place where we do have other things for people to enjoy,” said Baltimore City Councilwoman Helen Holton.
Yeah, like HBO’s one time series about the Baltimore criminal element, The Wire.
