One of the biggest beneficiaries of last week’s indictments is none other than the Merge Poker Network (also known as Merge Gaming).  It enjoys a solid presence at the Gambling911.com website through its popular brand Lock Poker.

Not only has Lock Poker managed to grow about 50 percent in the past 10 days, the site is now listed at number 12 among the world’s online poker sites in terms of real cash play.

It is averaging 1360 real cash players over the past week and is expected to push ahead of Microgaming to capture the number 11 spot in just a matter of days.

“As more poker players migrate away from PokerStars, Full Tilt and UB.com, they will be looking at new poker rooms like Merge and Lock Poker,” commented Payton O’Brien, Senior Editor of the Gambling911.com website.  “And that means they can quickly spring ahead of other poker rooms already in the top 10.  The margin of players is not the much greater than Merge’s current player base.”

PokerStars, Full Tilt Poker and UB.com were indicted last week for bank fraud and money laundering.  UB.com has continued to accept US players but is unable to pay out for the time being and this has scared many customers off.  Full Tilt for the first time in years could dip beneath the 10,000 real cash player average this week.
