Wednesday night the underdogs managed to go 2-1, making for a 10-5 record to date for the first round of the NBA Playoffs.

Despite a pretty decisive win by the Los Angeles Lakers vs. the New Orleans Hornets Wednesday night, they still failed to cover the 11.5 point spread. Los Angeles managed to win by 87-78.  The Lakers' defense limited the Hornets to 78 points on 39 percent shooting.

"We had a good rhythm today," Lakers star Kobe Bryant said. "We found something we can hang our hats on in terms of the intensity and the aggression that we played with. Going up to New Orleans, I think that environment will bring it out."

Elsewhere, the Grizzlies managed to cover the spread against San Antonio Wednesday night following a previous outright win.

Oklahoma City destroyed the Nuggets, helping the public out somewhat.
