Even with the Blue Devils just narrowly escaping with a win to make the Sweet 16, the Arizona-Duke was still listed with a near double-digit line of -9.  With spread action heavily slanted towards Arizona at 85 percent, Gambling911.com anticipates the line moving down some, especially with calculations suggesting the odds on this game should be closer to -7.

Duke managed to squeak by Michigan with a 73-71 win.  Nolan Smith scored 24 points for the Blue Devils.  Duke is now tied with Kentucky for the 2nd most Sweet 16 appearances after North Carolina, which has two more (24).  The Tar Heels are back in as well and will face off against Marquette.

“We told our kids it would be like playing Butler in the national championship -- a very similar, tough-minded, really, really good basketball team," Coach Mike Krzyzewski said. "I'm proud of our effort and obvious ecstatic that we're moving on."

Arizona also just barely slipped into the Sweet 16 with a margin of victory less than what Duke managed.  The Wildcats beat Texas by a mere 70-69.

"I can't tell you how excited we are to be moving on to the Sweet 16," second-year Arizona coach Sean Miller said. "It's one thing to be a part of this tournament, but when you have the experience of advancing, it's second-to-none as a college basketball program, players, coaches."

It is the 13th time Arizona has made it to the Sweet 16.

Derrick Williams led the Wildcats with a team-high 17 points (14 in the second half) and Solomon Hill finished with 16 points despite averaging just 7.8 points per game.

There were nominal trends at this time suggesting that either team had any significant advantage Against The Spread.
