Michigan vs. Duke

The Michigan vs. Duke line opened at -11.5 in favor of the Blue Devils for Sunday’s Third Round showdown of the 2011 NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament.  Also being played in Charlotte is the Washington U vs. UNC game with North Carolina favored by -3.5 points.  Duke was getting 65 percent of the spread action while UNC was getting just over 75 percent of the spread action.  The total on the Michigan-Duke game was 136 with 80 percent of the public backing on the OVER.  The total on the Washington U-North Carolina game was 157.5 with just over 75 percent of the action coming in on the OVER.  All lines courtesy of Bookmaker.com

Gambling911.com has determined that the line on Michigan-Duke does have a slight 2-point overlay.

A win over the Wolverines (21-13) would send Duke to the regional semifinals for the 20th time in 26 years and make Krzyzewski, who is 899-283 in his 36-year career, the second Division I men's coach with 900 victories.

"The teams we've played have prepared us for this challenge," guard Zack Novack said. "They've got a lot of really talented players, and they do a real good job running their system, but I think that the games that we've played up to this point have prepared us, and I think we're ready."

Duke easily beat Hampton by a score of 87-45 on Friday.  Michigan destroyed Tennessee by 30 points on Friday, winning 75-45.  Michigan's 30-point win was the largest margin of victory in a game between an 8 and 9 seed.

The Washington U-North Carolina line appears to be right on the money.
