While the Lakers-Celtics line was listed at -2.5 favoring Boston, the gambling public could not resist pounding the Lakers spread.   60 percent of those betting the spread were backing LA at most books while others saw even more lopsided action.  80 percent of the books featured a line of -2.5.  Some had moved to -2 in an attempt to get more action on Boston.

The Celtics (38-13) are banged up and Los Angeles (36-16) hopes to avenge a previous 83-79 loss in the Staples Center with a third straight regular-season road victory over Boston. The Celtics are 23-4 at home but have dropped two of three overall as a result of injuries.

"We're going to have to be really physical, really solid, really aggressive in order to be successful in Boston," Pau Gasol told the Lakers' official website.

One of the most troubling trends for Lakers backers coming into this game is that Los Angeles is 1-10 Against The Spread in their last 11 Thursday games.  Ouch!  The Celtics, meanwhile,  are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 Thursday games.  This is really the only significant trend

Gambling911.com could find that applies to this game.
