With the world’s biggest online poker room PokerStars canceling its eCheck deposit platform for most US customers, Gambling911.com will be covering this fluid matter around the clock at both the main website and via its Twitter feed.

Affected players should monitor Gambling911.com Twitter more carefully as regular updates are posted.

PokerStars began notifying its customers in the vast majority of US states that the popular eCheck feature was no longer available.  Credit cards were also nearly impossible to use on the site.  PokerStars urged players to utilize other forms of deposit and withdrawal methods.  Some regular checks were also bouncing at both PokerStars and Full Tilt Poker, the second largest online poker room.

The crisis hit full force this past week after a payment processing partner for the company agreed to cooperate with US authorities regarding an ongoing federal investigation.  The processor in question cut off ties to PokerStars and Full Tilt.  Major banks also began flagging related accounts.

Sources close to Gambling911.com warned that websites believed to incorporate revenue share business models based in the US and conducting business with the top two Internet poker rooms could be targeted next as part of an ongoing New York US Attorney’s investigation.  Gambling911.com was granted the “right to access information” from said investigation by the Honorable Judge Laura Swain Taylor.

PokerStars has over 31,000 real cash players on average, not counting the French and Italian markets.

Gambling911.com Twitter is your 24 hour source for breaking news from the poker and gambling industry.    We are not a fluff news site.
