As College Football Betting fans know, the biggest game of the bowl season is the BCS National Championship Game, this year being played on Jan. 10, but the biggest day of bowl season is New Year’s Day.

That’s the day when bettors are treated to six matchups, including the first two of the five BCS Bowl Games. The action kicks off in the Big D, when the Northwestern Wildcats battle the Texas Tech Red Raiders in the Dallas Ticket City Bowl at the Cotton Bowl (12 pm ET, ESPNU).

College Football Odds at betED.com have Texas Tech as a 9.5-point favorite and the over/under total at 60.5. The Capital One Bowl takes place at the Citrus Bowl Stadium in Orlando between the Michigan State Spartans and the Alabama Crimson Tide (1 pm ET, ESPN). The Crimson Tide are a 10-point favorite in NCAAF Odds at betED.com. At the same time, the Outback Bowl has the Penn State Nittany Lions and the Florida Gators at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, FL (1 pm ET, ABC).

The Michigan Wolverines tackle the Mississippi State Bulldogs in the Gator Bowl at EverBank Field in Jacksonville (1:30 pm ET, ESPN2), with the Bulldogs a -200 moneyline, 4.5-point favorite. And then the granddaddy of all bowl games, the Rose Bowl, features the TCU Horned Frogs up against the Wisconsin Badgers in Pasadena (5 pm ET, ESPN).

The Horned Frogs are favored by 3 points in College Bowl Odds at betED.com. Along with the Rose Bowl, the other BCS bowl game New Year’s Day is the Fiesta Bowl, with the Connecticut Huskies taking on the Oklahoma Sooners at the University of Phoenix Stadium (8:30 pm ET, ESPN).
