This game goes off  Sunday, 1:00 pm Eastern – CBS

The New York Jets look to clinch a NFL betting playoff spot on Sunday when they visit the NFC North champion Chicago Bears.  The Bears clinched the division last week with a win over Minnesota but they should still be playing hard as they can earn the number two seed in the NFC and a first round bye if they win their last two games.

Chicago is a 1-point favorite with a total of 36.5 at SBG Global.com

The Jets are likely to make the playoffs even if they don’t win on Sunday but they would like to rest starters next week against Buffalo instead of having a must-win game.  One of the starters that needs the time off is quarterback Mark Sanchez who has a sore shoulder.  Head coach Rex Ryan said that Sanchez could be a game time decision although it would be a surprise if he is not starting.  The Jets are 6-1 on the road this football betting season including a win last week at Pittsburgh.

The Bears have won six of their last seven including a 40-14 rout of Minnesota last week.  Quarterback Jay Cutler is playing at a high level as he has a 130.9 passer rating in Chicago's last three wins.  Cutler had three touchdown passes last week against the Vikings.  Chicago’s defense and special teams also played well as they got five takeaways and Devin Hester scored his 14th career kick/punt return TD which is an NFL record.

Chicago has won six of the nine all-time meetings against the Jets.  The series has been low scoring with each of the last eight games producing less than 40 points. It could be another low scoring game on Sunday considering the Jets are 18th in the league in offense while the Bears are 19th.

Here are the football betting stats for Sunday’s game. The Jets are 10-3 ATS in their last 13 road games. The Jets are 6-2 ATS in their last 8 games as an underdog. The Bears are 2-7-1 ATS in their last 10 games in December. The Bears are 1-5 ATS in their last 6 games as a home favorite.

The Over is 12-3-1 in the Jets last 16 road games but the Under is 14-5 in the Jets last 19 games in December. The Over is 4-0 in the Bears last 4 games overall but the Under is 4-1 in the Bears last 5 games as a home favorite. The Under is 4-0 in the last 4 meetings between the two teams.

Aiyuk-Deebo Trade Odds and ROY Shift

Xavier Worthy = Tyreek Hill 2.0?  Perhaps, and if that comes to fruition at any point in the future, the Bills only have themselves to blame.

J.J. McCarthy Drafted Number 3 Odds to Patriots

To be clear, the Michigan quarterback J.J. McCarthy is pretty certain to land in Minnesota.  But what if the New England Patriots shock us and pick McCarthy at Number 3 before the Vikings get their opportunity at No. 5?
