Arsenal v. Chelsea betting odds were currently available for the Monday, December 27, 2010 game at BetUS.com.  Arsenal was at 2.55 on the money line.  Chelsea was at 2.70.  The draw was at 3.20.  This was expected to be a close game despite Chelsea’s domination of Arsenal in recent face-offs.

Case in point: Chelsea have lost only two of their last 18 matches against Arsenal in all competitions.  They have also won the last 5 competitions, making Chelsea the first side to win four straight league matches against Arsenal since Liverpool managed it from 1996 to 1998.

“Didier Drogba's record against the Gunners is oustanding so bet accordingly,” warned Feizal Rahman, a betting analyst for European betting exchange Betfair.com.

"In their three away defeats, the Blues failed to score and overall have kept just two clean sheets on their travels. Carlo Ancelotti’s men lost both high profile visits to Manchester City and Liverpool - and more recently drew at Tottenham – however, their exceptional record against Arsenal in the last few years suggests they may well fancy a turn in fortunes."

Arsenal captain Cesc Fabregas:  “Sometimes we seem scared of losing these big games. We don't really go for it and we're tempted to drop back and see what the opposition will do.”

Arsenal's postponed match with Stoke last weekend has allowed Lukasz Fabianski and Abou Diaby extra time to return to full fitness, the BBC noted

Arsenal have lost three games at the Emirates Stadium this season - only West Ham (four) have suffered more defeats at home.  Their overall record in their last 11 games in all competitions against Manchester United and Chelsea is one draw and 10 defeats, with five goals scored and 23 conceded.  Chelsea, however, has gained only half as many points as Arsenal in their last 6 games.

Nicolas Anelka has failed to score in almost 10 hours of Premier League football, although managing seven goals in his last 12 league starts against Arsenal.
