The Steelers Ravens spread has not moved off the number “3” since opening Baltimore -3.  The Ravens were getting just over 60 percent of the backing on the spread while the money line action was fairly even.  The total 39 was also getting relatively balanced betting action.

While Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger has said he will play after suffering a broken bone in his right foot, it remains to be seen how effective he will be.  Roethlisberger wore a protective shoe during practice on Friday.

Baltimore and Pittsburgh both sit atop the AFC North division with 8-3 records.  Only the Jets and Patriots have been records in the AFC.

Let’s review some of the important trends coming into this game before placing a bet.

These two teams have pretty much alternated wins over the past two seasons.

The Steelers are 5-0 ATS in their last 5 road games vs. a team with a winning home record.

The Steelers are 7-1 ATS in their last 8 games as an underdog and are 15-5-1 ATS in their last 21 games as an underdog of 0.5-3.0.

The Steelers are 0-5 ATS in their last 5 games following a S.U. win.

Steelers are 0-3-1 ATS in their last 4 games in December.

The Ravens are 8-3-1 ATS in their last 12 games as a home favorite of 0.5-3.0.

The Ravens are 44-20-1 ATS in their last 65 games as a home favorite.

The Ravens are 3-7-1 ATS vs. a team with a winning record.
