Steelers-Bills Spread Sees Heavy Lopsided Action

The Steelers-Bills spread of Pittsburgh -7 was seeing close to 95 percent lopsided action in favor of the Steelers as sports bettors believe Buffalo will have a tough time winning three consecutive games.  Buffalo has managed to win their last two games against Detroit and Cincinnati.  The Bills are only 2-8 Against The Spread in their last 10 games following a Straight Up win.  After the Eagles, the Steelers are the most bet on NFL team of the week.  Nearly all the action on the money line is also favoring Pittsburgh.  The OVER/UNDER was getting 60/40 action in favor of the OVER 43.5.

The Steelers cannot take this game lightly.  Not only are the Bills looking for a third straight win, Pittsburgh is looking to avoid the downfall of last season where they started 6-2 only to lose five games in a row, three of which were to teams with losing records.

Last week, the Bills mounted a monumental comeback.  Down 31-14 at halftime, Buffalo came back to score 35 points in the second half while Cincinnati had zero.  The Bills walked away with a 49-31 win.

Ryan Fitzpatrick matched his career high with four touchdown passes.

"We could've easily folded our tent," said cornerback Drayton Florence, who returned a fumble 27 yards during the comeback. "It looked like they folded their tents on their sideline."

The Steelers meanwhile managed to stifle all the hoopla surrounding the Oakland Raiders, who had come into this game with their first winning record in years.

The Steelers (7-3), still tied with Baltimore for the AFC North lead, were motivated by last week's 39-26 home-field loss to New England and last year's 27-24 defeat to Oakland that all but ruined their season.

"It definitely was an old school, physical type game from back in the day," linebacker James Farrior said. "That's the type of game we wanted to make it, a physical game, and improve from our performance of last week."

Let’s look at some important betting trends related to the Steelers-Bills game.

Pittsburgh has won 7 of the last 8 games in this series dating back to 1993.  They have covered the spread in all 8 of those games.

The Steelers are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 road games vs. a team with a losing home record.  Don’t let that stat scare you if you’re a Pittsburgh backer. The Bills are a miserable 1-6 ATS in their last 7 games as a home underdog of 3.5-10.0.  Buffalo is also 1-9-1 ATS in their last 11 games as a home underdog.  (edge:  Steelers)

The Steelers are 4-11-2 ATS in their last 17 games after scoring more than 30 points in their previous game.

The Steelers are 3-10 ATS in their last 13 games following a Straight Up win of more than 14 points and are 0-4 ATS in their last 4 games following a S.U. win.

The Bills are 7-21-2 ATS in their last 30 home games vs. a team with a winning road record.

The Bills are 4-13-1 ATS in their last 18 home games.
