The Commonwealth of Kentucky has filed a Status Report and Motion for Case Management Order, a proposed Case Management Order, and letter to the clerk in the in rem matter in an effort to seize 141 online gambling related domain names.

The Commonwealth had previously tried to do so in 2008 but failed on appeal.

Kentucky’s Governor Steven Beshear has claimed that such online gambling enterprises operating outside the jurisdiction of the state are “leaches” and stealing away business from local gambling businesses, primarily Churchill Downs.

In recent months the Commonwealth has sought damages from the parent company of Full Tilt Poker, Partygaming and Microgaming, three of the largest Internet gambling firms.
