The Alabama vs. LSU spread has not moved off of Crimson Tide 6.5 since opening earlier in the week.  Nearly 90 percent of the betting action on the spread was going towards the Crimson Tide.  Just shy of 80 percent of the total action was on the UNDER 44.

No. 5 Alabama has climbed back into the national title race, now the challenge is staying there, Stats LLC writes.

"This team has a great opportunity in the last one-third of the season," Tide coach Nick Saban said Monday. "We need everyone's best. We need their best attention to detail. We need their best energy and enthusiasm, the best focus on execution.

"The focus doesn't need to be on the finish line."

In order for LSU to have a shot at the title, Auburn, the only team that has beaten LSU, must lose to either Alabama or Georgia.

Alabama has covered three of the last four in this series.

LSU is only 4-12 in home games Against The Spread.

Some other important trends to consider before betting on this game include:

The Crimson Tide are 10-4 ATS in their last 14 road games. The Tigers are 0-4 ATS in their last 4 games as a home underdog.  (edge:  Alabama)

The Crimson Tide are 6-2 ATS in their last 8 games following a S.U. win.  The Tigers are 2-5 ATS in their last 7 games following a S.U. loss.

One trend that definitely does not bode well for LSU: The Tigers are 1-10 ATS in their last 11 games in November.
