In the global online sportsbook rankings released by BetRankings.com for the first week of October 2010, it is revealed that Bet365 has closed the gap to a slim margin with number-one trafficked site Betfair.com.

As Bet365 continues to build audience share around In-Game betting, BetRankings.com asks the question:  Just how long Betfair will be able to keep the hard-charging Green Monster in check?

Rounding out the top 5 online sportsbooks in terms of overall weekly traffic, #3 William Hill, #4 Bwin and #5 Ladbrokes all saw week-over-week downward trends in unique visitor traffic across the major Web ranking panels.

Aside from Bet365, only Bet-At-Home and Bodog saw positive growth trending the first week in October.

Online sportsbook rankings are monitored weekly by the BetRankings.com website.  Aaron Goldstein reporting.
