10 men have plead guilty in a Montreal mafia sports betting case Friday.  They will face sentencing in January.

A trial was anticipated to begin in November prior to the men entering the guilty pleas.

The men in question were alleged to have run a sports betting call center, a percentage of the profits going to the Montreal mafia.

RCMP records indicated that during one  17-month period, they made $26-million profit from more than 800,000 wagers.

Carmelo Cannistraro, 40, and Domenico Velenosi, 44, plead guilty to committing a crime for the benefit of a criminal organization and face up to 14 years in prison.
