If this offseason is anything like last offseason, we won’t see many free agent signings until after the New Year and when Scott Boras feels like he’s gotten every last dollar imaginable for his clients.

The oddsmakers at BetOnline.ag have created “next team” odds for Alex Bregman and others.

2025 was his first season with the Boston Red Sox after signing a 3-year deal. With a batting average of.273, Bergman made the 2025 All-Star team (his third career All-Star selection).

Bregman has opted out of his contract with the Red Sox but does have a decent shot of re-signing him. If not, Philadelphia and the Chicago Cubs are among the favorites to land the MLB star.

MLB insider Ken Rosenthal thinks the Phillies have a legitimate shot as Philadelphia is looking to make significant upgrades.

“Maybe it’s Bregman,” Rosenthal said on “Starkville” regarding who the Phillies could target in free agency. “Put him at third base, trade Alec Bohm. It’s something they discussed last year, trading Alec Bohm.”
