The graphic below, courtesy of BetOnline.ag, is based on geotagged X data over the weekend, tracking tweets, hashtags and direct keyword phrases about who fans are rooting to win the 2025 World Series.

For example, "I'm rooting for Seattle," "I'm rooting for the Brewers," "I'm rooting for the Blue Jays," etc. as well as hashtags like #DodgersNation (Dodgers), #WANTITALL (Blue Jays), #ThisIsMyCrew (Brewers), and #SiezeTheMoment (Mariners).

Over 130,000 tweets were analyzed in the study.

As you can see from the map, 90% of states are rooting for a first-time World Series champion. Only the Brewers, Mariners, Padres, Rockies and Rays have yet to win a World Series.

And only the Mariners have never been to a World Series.

Majority of U.S. rooting for Brewers to beat Dodgers, win first World Series, study finds

I think the majority of states are rooting for the Brewers for multiple reasons. One, they have the lowest payroll of all the remaining four teams at 23rd (the Dodgers are second, the Blue Jays are fifth and the Mariners are 16th).

Two, the sad passing of the legendary Brewers broadcaster Bob Uecker in January.

Here's the state breakdown:

Brewers - 30 states (Alabama, Arkansas, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, NC, ND, Ohio, Oklahoma, RI, SC, SD, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, WV, Wisconsin)

Mariners - 15 states (Alaska, Arizona, Colorado, Connecticut, Idaho, Illinois, Montana, NJ, NM, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Utah, Washington, Wyoming)

Dodgers - 3 states (California, Hawaii, Nevada)

Blue Jays - 2 states (New Hampshire, Vermont
