Billy Deray Hemsley, 54, has been arrested following the killing of one person and wounding of two others in a Las Vegas Strip hotel.

Police believe it was a family argument that left the unidentified man dead and two unidentified women wounded.  The shooting occurred in a hotel room Thursday night.

A department statement said Hemsley was apprehended before dawn in a southeast Las Vegas neighborhood and he was booked into the Clark County Detention Center to await an initial court appearance scheduled for Saturday.

Hemsley has felony convictions dating back to 1987 and has previously served several years in Nevada state prisons, records show.

The injured women were taken to a hospital in critical condition, police said. No additional details were disclosed about their wounds and they were not immediately identified.

The Mirage Hotel was purchased by Hard Rock International, owned by the Seminole Tribe of Florida, back in December for $1.1 billion.  It will be the site of the new Guitar Hotel, similar to that erected in Hollywood, Florida.
