The Angels limped out of this series 1-3. It didn't look like it would get any easier as the Angels headed to New York to take on the Yankees for whom they are 14-39 in the last 53 meetings in New York. The Angels did win the first game in the series.
Angels vs. Red Sox
(April 16, 2023) - Thanks to the LA Angels, the Boston Red Sox are suddenly starting to look hot. They just beat LA in the last three games with one more to go on Monday.
The LA Angels come into their series against the Boston Red Sox with a winning record (7-5) and they were sitting at 7-8 heading into Monday's game. Boston was just 5-8, now 8-8.
There had not been much of an edge in this series of late. The Angels, however, had gone 15-3 in the last 18 versus Boston in terms of run line covers. That didn't exactly go too well either as Boston went 2-1 in that category over the weekend.
The Angels were 7-25 in their last 29 vs. American League East coming into Monday, perhaps a sign of what was to come.
Shohei Ohtani is slated to start for the Angels on Monday. He's 2-0 with an 0.47 ERA.
Ohtani fired seven shutout innings on Tuesday in a win over the Nationals in his most recent start.
Be mindful that this is an 11 am ET game with some showers forecast until roughly the 4 pm hour.
