Huntington Beach, California poker pro Jared Griener has been on a roll at this year's World Series of Poker.
From May 26 through July 2, Griener cashed out in four WSOP events. His overall winnings totaled just over $78,000.
Now Griener is claiming he was hog-tied and robbed while inside his Airbnb in Las Vegas.
In a series of posts to X beginning July 13, the poker pro, who has accumulated over $3.3 million in live tournament winnings, said he was set upon by two Black men inside the Airbnb upon entry around 8 p.m. on Sunday.
Griener claims he was tackled to the ground immediately, tied up and the backpack containing his winnings was taken from him. He eventually escaped and fled to his neighbor’s residence to call 911.
“These people knew the door code to my Airbnb, they were waiting for me inside, and video surveillance from neighbors showed they arrived at the Airbnb 10 minutes before me,” Griener wrote Monday.

“Luckily, I am physically unharmed. This was the most terrifying and traumatic experience of my life. All my $ is gone,” Griener added.
Griener has not specified the exact amount stolen, though he claims the backpack contained “literally all” of his money.
“Just want to say thanks to my friends and colleagues who have reached out here and privately to show support to me, it means a lot. Apart from the loss of my $, I am so traumatized and hurt rn. But what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger. I’ll be back, you can fkn count on it!” he added in a post Tuesday.
The Las Vegas Police Department is currently investigating the matter.
