McCracken winning this year’s Kentucky Derby would pay out $70 for every $10 bet.
McCracken the mudder will likely not get a chance to run on a wet track with rain expected to end early enough in the day. Still, he has plenty of experience at Churchill Downs.
Before finishing 3rd in his last race, the Blue Grass Stakes, McCracken won both the Sam F. Davis and Kentucky Jockey Club Stakes (at Churchill Downs).
Jockey Brian Hernandez said of the number 15 post position draw, “We drew well. I am very happy with it.”
The spot has produced a decent five winners in Derby history with the most recent being Triple Crown winner American Pharoah two years ago.
