Not a favorite by any stretch of the imagination, Storm Alert was seeing better than 50 percent of the betting action at Friday’s Warwick 16:10 race with odds set at 33-1. Expect odds to be slashed further so check here frequently ahead of the race.
Storm Alert has won three hurdle races from 2m 6f to 2m 7f on ground varying from good to soft to heavy, but hasn’t won in three years.
William Money is the 4/7 favorite to win this race.
The Sporting Life Outlook:
There is always risk attached betting on these hand and heels races but there is no denying that WILLIAM MONEY looks thrown in on his return to hurdling having won by eight lengths over fences at Ludlow on Wednesday off a 15lb higher mark. He did, however, have quite a hard race that day and that may have taken its toll. Easy Plumpton winner Act Now was beaten under her penalty at Towcester but still ran well and is the one most likely to cash in should Tim Vaughan’s chaser flop. Staunton was only beaten a neck over 2m4f at Leicester last month while Romeo Americo could be given a squeak on past form.
