We already know that the two favorites in this year's Preakness Stakes race are more than capable of running in the mud. Rain is in the forecast leading up to Saturday's race and likely during it.

Justify, at 1-2 odds Friday afternoon, won this year's Kentucky Derby, the wettest on record while Good Magic finished in second place.

Justify remains undefeated in all his races and has run twice in the slop.

Good Magic finished 2nd on the wettest track in Kentucky Derby history.  At 3/1 odds, he'll have a little bit more of an edge for this race as the track will be shorter and better suits him.

Lone Sailor won at Saratoga last September (77 Beyer) in the muck and was eighth in the Kentucky Derby (89 Beyer).

Sporting Chance  was third in the mud in the Grade 3 Southwest (82 Beyer) in February at Oaklawn Park.

Quip, Diamond King and Tenfold have not raced on a wet track.
