Francisco Rules is the pick to win the Pnnsylvania Nursery 2011 with odds set at 5/2, so says Brian Mulligan of BetOnline.com

“Look for it to unfold like this: Traffic Light (6/1 odds) will be sent hard trying to steal the race but the two inside horses Francesco Rules and Noifswhatsorbuts will be in full pursuit.  The rest of the field will be in the next flight and will likely lose contact.   At the top of the lane, Traffic Light sees red and stops while Francesco Rules gets the ideal 3-hole trip and nails Noifswhatsorbuts at the wire.”

Noifswhatsorbuts was listed at 5 to 1 odds.  Ill Conceived was at 5 to 1 as well.

The Daily Racing Form noted

Francesco Rules made a wide, sweeping move to win the six-furlong Nov. 8 sprint by three-quarters of a length, with Ill Conceived nosing out Traffic Light for second.

Francesco Rules, one of three in Saturday’s nine-horse field with two lifetime wins, will break from the rail under Joe Hampshire Jr. His trainer, Ron Dandy, is just 2 for 21 the past two seasons with last-out winners returning in sprints at 6 1/2 or seven furlongs.

Polard’s Boy is another “dangerous horse”, according to the DRF.  He comes in with 7 to 2 odds.

Here is the video preview for this race a la The Daily Racing Form…

How We Follow Horse Racing Has Completely Changed

Horse racing has always been a sport built on routine. Certain days meant certain tracks, the form guide landed when it landed, and if you missed a race, you simply caught up later. Following the sport required a bit of commitment, a bit of patience, and often a bit of guesswork.
