Churchill Downs on Tuesday unveiled a new way to bet the horses online.  It’s called Luckity and here is how it works:

Pick the first two finishers of a race in order correctly (very similar to an exacta).

Numbers can be picked by the bettors or have a random number generator “quick pick” the numbers.  Some games are picked using a spinning wheel or popping numbered bubbles.

Gamblers can click on the “game details” and “race info” tabs that show the horses racing and their odds.

Once numbers are picked, the bet is confirmed.  A timer then shows how much time is left to place the bet.

Players can check back to see if they have won and what others have won.

Most wager types are offered with Luckity.  Multiple bet options (i.e. exactas and show bets) are offered where a win occurs should either of those bets hit.

How We Follow Horse Racing Has Completely Changed

Horse racing has always been a sport built on routine. Certain days meant certain tracks, the form guide landed when it landed, and if you missed a race, you simply caught up later. Following the sport required a bit of commitment, a bit of patience, and often a bit of guesswork.
