Game On Dude Favorite to Win 2012 Breeders Cup Classic: Odds

Game On Dude is a rather unconvincing favorite to win the 2012 Breeders Cup early on with a payout potential of $15 for every $10 bet at BetOnline, an online racebook that gives back 7 percent on losses.

It is true, however, that all other Breeders Cup contenders pay $50 or more with a win.

Game On Dude has won three Grade I races including the Santa Anita Handicap, the Goodwood Stakes and the Hollywood Gold Cup.

The Bob Baffert trained thoroughbred also finished 2nd in the 2011 Breeders Cup Classic.

A win at this year’s race could lead to the title for “Horse of the Year”.

"That's a tough horse," Trainer Bill Mott said of Game On Dude. "The mile-and-a-quarter sometimes get to telling on him at the end. He's got a tremendous amount of speed. With our fellas, we just hope we can be running at him at the finish."

Mott will have four horses in this year’s Breeders Cup.  He trained last year’s winner, Drosselmeyer.

Despite a rough year for horses, the 2012 Breeders Cup should be a heavily wagered on event as this will be the first time the Classic will be shown live and in prime time on Nov. 3 courtesy of NBC

While the horse-racing season doesn’t actually begin in May at Churchill Downs, interest in the sport seems to increase once the best 3-year-olds get to Louisville.
