Exaggerator post position draw landed him in the number eleven post position and was among the favorites to win the 2016 Kentucky Derby at 8-1 odds.
The 11 position having won just two in seventy-five starts and zero since 1999. This was the second lowest win percentage.
Trainer Keith Desormeaux said of the post position: “I’m fine with it. Kent (Desormeaux, his brother and his rider) seems a bit concerned because he’ll have to wait some after they load. But I don’t see a problem. The horse is as cool as a cucumber. It’ll be fine.”
Exaggerator is the winner of two big races including the Delta Downs Jackpot and Santa Anita Derby.
