Nearly 80 Percent of Bets on Sports Last Weekend
What was known primarily as a gambling prediction site for elections and Rotten Tomatoes reviews has fast become one of the top sites in the sports betting space.
From April 26 to April 27, Kalshi reported 77.9 percent of all contracts traded were sports betting related. The company began offering sports betting options in late January.
Betting on the horses is a whole different animal in the realm of sports gambling. It will be interesting to see if Kalshi opts to offer horse betting contracts for future races as they will take a hard pass on the 2025 Kentucky Derby.
