Danzig Moon Preakness Stakes odds were coming in at 17-1 for a payout potential of $170 on every $10 bet

Danzig Moon has only a single win in five races coming into the Kentucky Derby.  He finished 5th in the Kentucky Derby two weeks ago.

One thing to keep in mind is that, despite Danzig Moon’s rough start in the Derby, he still managed to finish rather strong, all things considered.

“I actually think he’ll like this track a little more than Churchill,” assistant trainer Norman Casse said after returning to the Preakness Stakes Barn. “Churchill is its own track, but I actually think he’ll like deeper race tracks – tracks like here, tracks like Saratoga. He really likes Palm Meadows and this (Pimlico) is very similar.”

We shall see.

How We Follow Horse Racing Has Completely Changed

Horse racing has always been a sport built on routine. Certain days meant certain tracks, the form guide landed when it landed, and if you missed a race, you simply caught up later. Following the sport required a bit of commitment, a bit of patience, and often a bit of guesswork.
