Last week, Gambling911.com published an article regarding thoroughbred owner Michael Gill and how he seemingly appeared to correctly predict that a series of indictments might be forthcoming.

Gambling911.com referenced the Paulick Report

Gill told the Paulick Report an FBI investigation of jockeys, jockey agents, trainers, racetrack and Pennsylvania Horse Racing Commission employees will lead to as many as 42 federal indictments. The indictments, Gill said, will involve manipulation of races, offshore gambling, collusion between trainers and test barn personnel, and embezzlement.

Following his prediction, a massive sports betting ring was unraveled resulted in 25 arrests nationwide.  One of those arrested was Michael Colbert, who just happened to head up Cantor Gaming’s sportsbook at the M Resort.  That hotel and casino is operated by none other than Penn National, an organization that Gill has taken issue with in the past.  He was ejected from the Penn National racetrack in 2010.  There is no confirmation that Mr. Gill had been alluding to this particular investigation but it certainly made for an interesting story.

In our haste, Gambling911.com referenced an indictment that occurred within the horse racing community then went on to mention Mr. Gill.  In so doing there could have been some misinterpretation that it was Gill who had been indicted and this is simply not the case.  Michael Gill has not been indicted for any wrongdoing and Gambling911.com sincerely apologizes for the poorly structured paragraph that may have led some to believe this was the case.
