Keen Ice was still coming in at 3/1, Gun Runner 4/5, War Story 6/1, Breaking Lucky 8/1, Tu Brutus 8/1, Discreet Lover 25/1 and Cautious Giant 30/1.

As you could see there has been little change in the odds over the past 24 hours.  Some minor alterations could occur just prior to this afternoon’s post time of 5:46 pm EST.

This Saratoga Race is among the most important preps for the upcoming Breeders Cup.

“We are very excited to run in the Whitney after a determined win in the Suburban,” John Buckley, part-owner of favorite Keen Ice, said. “While both his wins have come at a mile and a quarter, the mile and an eighth of the Whitney will require some pace to finish with Gun Runner.

“Keen Ice has been training very well, loves the surface and we expect him to run well. There is no question that Gun Runner is formidable as the second ranked horse in the world. But there is no better time than now and no better place than Saratoga to try to beat him”

The weather was expected to be sunny after some morning rain.
